                                                           T&DCMC monthly meetings

Our meetings are held on the last Thursday of each month Jan to Nov starting at 2000.
The venue, the Chinnor Rugby Club, Kingsey Road, Thame, OX9 3PB
The meetings are held in the smaller rear room.

Interim meetings are held on Wednesdays or Sundays two or three weeks after the main meeting
at a watering hole with good food, beer and car parking to accommodate our vehicles.
The venue & day are decided at a previous monthly meeting where our Chairman asks
the floor for suggestions, and he receives plenty but not necessarily where to eat & drink.

                                                                  T&DCMC Club Events:

Near St Georges day as a club we enter into the    FBHVC
[ Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs ]
                                                             National Drive It Day Celebrations.
DRIVE IT DAY is the historic vehicle movement's annual showcase event
on the Sunday nearest the 23 April, the anniversary of the start of the 1,000 mile trial of 1900.
So if you own a classic vehicle the object of the exercise is go for a drive
or park the vehicle so it can be seen on Drive It Day.

Each spring the club has a continental tour for members who wish to venture
further afield & practice a foreign language. "Err do you speak English?"

A summer Navigation & Treasure hunt followed by lunch, usually held in August.

Club members are invited to display their interesting
classic  automobiles at THAME SHOW, there is always a good turnout for this event.

Each autumn the club has another weekend away,
somewhere in the UK, over the hills and far away.

There are also the local and not so local events our club members attend,
Vintage & Classic Race Meetings at Silverstone and race circuits further afield,
Classic Car shows like Churchill, Chilton Hills,
Leighton Buzzard narrow gauge railway etc.

This Website supplements the club magazine "The Oily Rag" & the Club monthly Newsletter.
On this site, we as a club, are able to show the world the interesting places visited,
the vehicles we drive, or other vehicles admired on our travels in Kerbside Encounters.

So before you go out for the day (or require an excuse to get out of an awkward invite)
check here first, hopefully there will be something exciting happening in our locality,
assuming of course someone has informed the webmaster of it first.

                                                                            Club History:

The T&DCMC was formed in 1997 when Nigel who is once again the magazine editor of our club, placed
an advertisement in the Thame Gazette asking if classic car owners in Thame & the surrounding area
were interested in joining together to form a Classic Car Club. Nigel said he would be in the
Six Bells Thame on the last Wed of the month at 2000 hrs.

The meeting's then continued at the Six Bells until the club outgrew the premises, we then moved the
monthly meeting to the Chinnor Rugby Club on the Thame bypass.
